Absolutely immediately cats. They’re cuddlier and cleaner. I’d have a dog if I were an outdoorsy person. But I’m more of the indoors type and dogs like to be taken out for a walk. Well, I would feel bad about cooping a dog indoors all day, but cats are diva like that.
While dogs tend to get the publicity for keeping their owners fit, the science does show that there are good reasons to consider getting any pet. Here’s my argument for the cat.
Low Maintenance
Compared to some other pets, cats are relatively low maintenance. They don’t need to be walked, and they’re generally good at taking care of their own grooming. The most you would have to do in the hygiene area is potty train. Even then, they tend to ‘clean up’ after themselves. So, they’re ideal for our busy lifestyles or just if you don’t have the physical capability to care for a more demanding pet.
Affectionate Companions
Cat’s enjoy sitting on laps, cuddling, and purring, which can be very comforting. What takes the cake for me is how petty, flirtatious, upset, happy, saucy or playful they can be. They force you to learn to tolerate and live with others no matter how moody people might be.
Despite their reputation for being aloof, many cats are very affectionate and form strong bonds with their owners. Watching a cat play can be so entertaining and mood boosting.
Stress Relief
Like I said earlier, the science proves it. The act of petting a cat has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and reduce pain. The rhythmic motion and the warmth of a purring cat can be incredibly soothing. This is one me-time therapy for eliminating heart disease.
Independence
Absolutely immediately cats because I am independent. Cats are independent animals too. This means they can be left alone for longer periods than some other pets. This independence is a comfort if you tend to feel guilty about leaving a pet alone while you go to work or run errands.
In fact, sometimes, your cat absolutely wants to be left alone. Cats can provide a sense of companionship without being overly demanding of your time. This means a balanced relationship where both you and your pet enjoy each other’s presence without feeling overwhelmed.
Quiet Companionship
Absolutely immediately cats because they are so quiet…when not in heat. Unlike dogs, which can be quite loud, cats are generally quiet animals. They are ideal for people who prefer a peaceful home environment. Like I said, generally…when not in heat.
Considering getting a pet? Try a cat. They can be especially beneficial as they offer a reliable source of comfort and companionship without requiring the extensive care that some other pets might need. Their presence can also provide children with a sense of responsibility and a loving friend.
