Here is Why Candy Will Always Have Nutritional Benefits

What’s your favorite candy?

Candy will always have nutritional benefits. As long as you’re indulging in the right ones in moderate quantity, your body will thank you.

I think about my favourite candy. But, I can’t talk about my favourite candy without mentioning my former favourite candy.

Growing up, I loved caramel, nuts and hot chocolate. There was this local candy made of caramelised sugar. It was chewy and punched me with an incredible burst of energy. Sugar straight to the brain.

I doubt that was a good thing, but somehow I could still function.

Trouble was, after I used up my sugar, I’d suffer the equivalent of a hangover…unless I had a handful of roasted peanuts or hot chocolate.

Enter the Snickers bar. I couldn’t get enough of it. Everything I needed in one.

I can hear you rolling your eyes or screaming there were way nicer candies, but Snickers did it for me until…

Growing up, I guess makes you more conscious of the negative effects of excess sugar and processed foods on health. And when you start to lose dear friends and family to diabetes or see the debilitating effects of obesity, you hopefully start to take your health in your own hands.

Thanks to exercise and helpful genes I haven’t had any personal emergencies myself, but I do realise candy for energy is not sustainable.

I was wrong.

There is healthy candy

These are dark chocolate candies made with a herbal sweetener. Stevia is zero calorie AND satisfies a sugar craving AND gives you the energy boost you need on a long day.

Your Body NEEDS sugar

You’re not just satisfying an indulgent craving. In fact, cravings are your body telling you it needs something of nutritional benefit, and free sugars, albeit in moderate quantities are one of those.

I get a kick from knowing these chocolate assortments include dark chocolate sweetened with Stevia so even diabetics benefit from them.

This means I don’t have to worry about sharing the candy with others. I could even gift them a bag! And who doesn’t love a sweet treat? What is more, stevia is actually good for you!!

That’s how I know candy will always have nutritional benefits. Because in fact diabetics need sugar to prevent a “hypo” or low sugar.

But this candy doesn’t just offer free sugars in small chocolate assortments, it’s sweetened with Stevia.

Why Stevia is so good

Stevia is researched to contain sterols and antioxidants compounds including kaempferol which reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer.

If you’re concerned about reducing your child’s calorie intake, Stevia has close to zero calories.

And if you’re worried about allergies, studies have shown that even highly purified Stevia extracts have not recorded any case of allergy.

What’s not to love?

Raving over dark chocolate

You return all cheered up and energetic.

The only bummer is if you don’t live in the United States, Russell Stover’s might not deliver to your location. Whatever the case, definitely try these if you can, and let me know if they beat your own favourite candy.

Of course, everything in moderation, but this is my new favourite.
