What are three objects you couldn’t live without?
Are you of this unique family type called single parent? There are 3 objects every single parent needs to keep thriving.
All of them I discovered by necessity because they healed my mental, physical and financial health. They also ease my logistics and planning.
I think every single parent should have and use these object in a guided, intentional way. Let’s dive in.
Earth, Wind and Water
A garden. Just because I am human and need food, oxygen and water. A garden provides a daily option to inhale fresh air, refuel and reflect. My garden supplies me with all three, but it’s been years in the making. So start small and nature will reward you.

Even if you cannot afford the luxury of a garden in your backyard, find time every day to spend at a garden or park. Take a light snack and drink with you, and give yourself time to plan, strategize and pause.
Health and Fashion Companion
A pair of running shoes. Just because health is wealth and exercise should be a part of your daily routine. Having running shoes as part of your work wardrobe means you can incorporate walking at any time of day. No other type of shoes would fit the different types of occasions running shoes would – including emergencies.
From work to weddings to dinner and travel, I’ve enjoyed the most versatile ways to wear them. If you couldn’t afford any other shoes, at least get running shoes.
You just have to be creative with how you combine them.
Tech Tool
Finally, I cannot live without my phone. I’m sure you saw that one coming. My phone is my school, my work and my window to the world.
It is my tool in planning and executing logistics, monitoring and even rewarding good results.
I learn on it, I earn money on it and I do research and find news on it. These days, you can travel with your bank and open almost all doors with your phone.
Take time to learn the security you need to take so that only you have access to your key data.
I am even in the process of searching the best phone to replace my laptop with.
My garden, my running shoes and my phone. These are three objects that have made my life very positively different.
I think every single parent would thrive just by using them right.
